Mind Your Mind!

SEEK GOD WITHIN YOU!

Once two friends went to Rajasthan for their business needs.  Let us call them Ramu and Shyamu.

Ramu was an honest and God fearing man, while Shyamu was very much greedy.
They were two extremely different characters, yet they were real good friends.

They finished their work and decided to spend the night at a hotel.
Before retiring to sleep, Ramu started counting the money he had in his bag. On seeing this, Shyamu thought, “Somehow I should get my hands on it”.
Without showing his intention on his face, he went to the bathroom for a bath. By the time he came out, Ramu had already slept.
Shyamu could not make out where Ramu had kept his money. After some time, making sure that Ramu was sound asleep, Shyamu started searching for the money. He searched every nook and corner of the room but couldn’t find it. At last, as if nothing had happened he went back to his bed and slept . Next morning, when Shyamu woke up, he saw his friend saying his prayers after his bath.

After completing his daily routine he saw his friend counting the money again. He asked, “Dear friend, there is a lot one can learn from you, especially  the way you keep your money safely . Actually where did you keep your money yesterday night?”.  To this Ramu replied, “Yesterday night I saw you trying to steal my money”.  Shyamu said “Oh no! why should I need your money?  I didn’t even know where you kept the money”. “That’s true”, his friend answered, “You couldn’t find the money. I had kept the money under your pillow. I was sure that wherever you search you will not search for the money under your pillow”.

This is the true nature of human minds. They wander here and there without knowing that what they are searching for is within themselves. For us, God is a supernatural power in an idol which is kept inside a temple. Many of us believe that God is somewhere far away from us.

As per our Hindu culture, it is scientifically proven that all these beliefs are wrong. In Bhagavad Gita, Lord Krishna says that the human body is the temple where the Lord resides.  God is that subtle power which resides inside each and every human body.
Bhagavatham teaches us to realize God as a divine power which resides within us. Without realizing this truth, we wander here and there in search of “EASWARA”, the Lord.

The meaning of the word “Kshethrangnan”, is the one who is in the temple which means God Himself. The human body is compared to a temple where this subtle power resides.

The word “THATWAMASI”  means “You are That”. Our Masters awaken us and tell us “You are God”.
