Dharmakshetre kurukshetre samaveta yuyutsavah, mamakaḥ pāṇḍavāścaiva kimakurvata sanjaya.”
Dhritarashtra the blind king asks his minister Sanjaya regarding the war at Kurukshetra between the Pandavas and the Kauravas (cousins)
Dhritarashtra represents not the physical blindness but one who is mentally blind or upset and one lacking a clear vision of life. Life is represented as ” Dharma Chakra”. Time is the force that keeps rotating Life which is not under our control, but the wheel can freely move only when supported by an immovable axis at the center. Here the higher intelligence represents the Axis of one’s Life. Why are we victims of fate and life’s tragedies?. To know this we should have a good understanding of Spirituality.
Dhritarashtra represents a person who is blind to spirituality and extremely ambitious about material progress. Such people are always shocked and devastated when things go wrong in Life.
