This chapter describes the sixty daughters of Daksha Prajapathy and their expanded lineage.
Daksha was afraid that if he gives birth to more sons, they too would be diverted by Sage Narada. So this time, he gave birth to daughters and through them his creation expanded.
Only Chandra had no child as he was cursed by Daksha for loving Rohini more than others among his 27 daughters married to him. This also explains why Chandra has ‘Kshayam’ as part of ‘shapam’ and ‘Vridhi’ as part of ‘shapa moksham’.
Thus Dakshas creation filled all three worlds.
Note: We can see the importance of daughters who make their father proud in this part of Bhagavatham. We are not giving a detailed account here obviously.
Another interesting point is Daksha’s just mind that sees all his daughters impartially.
