Devendra came back to his senses immediately and started regretting for the insult he did to his Guru, “Alas, my act was disgusting. I have insulted my Guru, that too in the public. Just because of my arrogance. No wise man would aspire whatever wealth I have, because that only caused this Asurik act from me. No Jnani would want it.
It is meaningless and ignorance to say that a King should not respect any one to show his supremacy. In fact, a Brahmana should be respected by all.

The All-knowing Brihaspathi knew Devendra’s thoughts and hence hid himself. Devendra searched for him every where in vain and became mentally disturbed.
Note: Taking things for granted and regretting when you lose them, is a common mental trap.
Devendra represents our mind. We can see that the mind sometimes wavers and does some mistake out of ignorance. Then it keeps regretting and blaming itself endlessly.
