Krishna has explicitly explained both in Bhagavad Gita. However, his advice to Arjuna was in the context of the impending war, where it was a must for Arjuna to act. Similarly, in life where action is needed it should be done with intensity, but without ownership on the action or the result. Everything you do should be looked upon as an opportunity given by God to do your best. Surrender the outcomes at his feet. That is the path of Nivritti. Hari Om.
