Hari Ohm. During Navarathri days the worldly  knowledge give way to spiritual knowledge. We take penance on these 9 days and focus all attention to gaining knowledge. Hence the mahishasura ( laziness, restlessness ,fear etc )within us is being conquered and enthusiasm, diligence,concentration etc are established. The aim of education is to acquire knowledge,skill and to develop character of human beings.Knowledge alone will not make him complete . Knowledge is usually derived from books and skill is developed through relentless practice of what you learn. Character is developed through interaction with others and introspection. So for some days learning is stalled and internal development is focused.We can see that when character is lost even highly educated or powerful persons falls.
