Coconut represents one’s own EGO and ghee is the mind.
When one breaks coconut (surrendering ego) and offers or pours ghee on the idol (remembering the Divine) such a mind not only purifies himself, but also spreads the fragrance of spiritual knowledge ( azhi or fire ) and heat ( love) around.
