Though conceptually they are similar the prefix Saguna/ Nirguna is used to describe upasana and Para/Apara is used to discuss types of bhakti. Bhakti is also classified as Sakamya/ Nishkamya bhakti, Gauna/Mukhya etc. Hari Om.
