പ്രണാമം സ്വാമിജി. എനിക്ക് വിളക്ക് കത്തിക്കുന്നതിനെ കുറിച്ച് ഒരു സംശയം ഉണ്ട്. വിളക്ക് ക്കു കത്തി കഴിയും വരെ നമ്മൾ കാക്കണോ അതോ അതിനു മുൻപ് നമ്മൾ വിളക്ക് കെടുത്തണോ . കരിന്തിരി കത്താൻ പാടില്ല എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു കേട്ടിട്ടുണ്ട് പക്ഷെ തന്നെ കത്തി തീരണം എന്നും കേട്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്. ഒന്നും പറഞ്ഞു തരാമോ സ്വാമിജി.

It is important to understand why we light the lamp before we think of how to quench it. At twilight, it is important to light up the environment with sesame oil/ ghee lamps to protect us from the effects of harmful radiations that hit the earth at that time. More importantly, we are suppose to sit near it and chant in order to light the Atmajyothi within you. Once you get a grip on that, we realize the way we light or quench the lamp is less important. When you are done chanting, you can quench the lamp and put it aside. Hari Om.
