Hai Ohm. All our spiritual journey is to reach in our own true Self and which happens only when our mind become purest, strongest and, submissive . Till then one has to take various saadhanas for purifying the mind. So all steps are for purifying the mind and not just getting lost or hanging on something you are doing mechanically. So once you realise this ,you can reach out to others to help them to move on to their next state of transformation. Instead of sitting behind and criticising others’ sadhana we should move forward and help others who are stuck in their path like a person who knows swimming alone can help a person who is drowning
