Here Varnam should be understood as “the culture and ways of living” we follow and pass down our generations. I will give you a simple example….we all say we had a glorious past and are upset that we have more diseases, less natural resources, our children eat the wrong foods, behave irresponsibly /disrespectfully etc. But we fail to understand we brought this confusion home by not observing what we were suppose to observe and allowing our children to imbibe an alien culture. We stopped Sandhya namam for TV serials, allow children to eat out often because their working mother cannot pack food in a way that they appreciate, spend hours on social media but no time to talk to family members or close relatives, forget to care for our parents or have hearty laughs with our teens etc.etc….I can go on writing. Children growing up in such environments naturally adapt to a borrowed culture and become very superficial and flimsy in nature. So down the generations we lose our authentic values and will be left with a mixed confused culture or Varna Sankaram…..What Bhagavan thought was his duty to do, is the duty of each one of us today.
