Om Mantra represents Prana Shakti. While doing long japa one should be able to arise and awaken the Moola Shakti upwards while chanting Om mantra. Shiva means auspicious and this represents the Mind and this Mind turns auspicious when one surrenders (Namah) to self awareness . All together this Mantra conveys that one can transform their lower energy and mind to a positive, balanced and stronger mind.
