Ganam is group and Pati is leader. If all your thoughts are emotions are considered a group your consciousness is the base (Pati) for all of them. So Ganapati refers to the awakened consciousness. When your consciousness is awakened you are able to see problems with clarity, deal with them effectively and overcome all obstacles. Hari Om.
