Dear Swamiji 1. In my younger age I am told to recite the 65th chapter of Narayaneeyam daily and 80th chapter of Narayaneeyam to my younger brother. Why we were told to recite two separate chapters. What may the intention. 2. Number of times Swamiji mentioned while discoursing the Geetha we should not prey to have the materialistic benefits (?). Where as in the Shri Rudram Chamakam it is prayed to have Intelligence etc and all the materialistic benefits. Could you please explain and enlighten me.

Narayaneeyam each chapter describes Bhagavan in a specific attribute. As we chant we are also suppose to meditate on that aspect. So specific chapters may be prescribed for particular ages or personalities. Now about praying for Material benefits, though a lot of our chants ask for material wealth, wisdom and mukthi, as a structured need base for a human life…….. we only need to have unwavering devotion and everything for a perfect life will be given to you at the right time.
