Dear Swamiji. Gents use basmam (ashes) with water ( wet) in the morning where as ladies use dry ashes. Similarly gents use only dry ashes in the evening. What are the reasons behind this. Pls advs.

The male body and mind by its nature generates more heat and active energy compared to the female. Hence men are asked to mix bhasmam with water when they apply on their forehead during the day. In the evening hours the body is in a lighter mode, so dry ash is ok as is for females. Hari Om.
