Dear Swamiji, Hariom. I have few doubts in my mind. Someone said vilakuthiri should not face south while lighting. Because south is direction of Lord Yama. Then my doubt is If I lit the vilaku with Lord Krishna in my mind and dedicated it to Him completely then how do that vilaku reach yama? Doesn’t Yama come or death occur in the house where vilaku never lit faced south? I do not believe in these and believe Lord Krishna is everywhere even in south.Kindly clear my doubts.Thankyou. The Universe has certain properties magnetically and direction wise. We always try to make it beneficial for us in every custom and ritual we follow. While we need to be constantly aware of death, and do worship Siva as Dakshinamurthi, our mind needs to focus on living with awareness. It is not the direction of your lamp that determines your life.
