Dear swamiji, I had a love relationship and then he left me. At first it was so painful and through prayers i removed all pain from my life. Now he cameback and i decided not to be with that person. Anyway in my future i have to marry someone. I wanted to share my life with someone who is able to accept my past. Everyone including my cousins asking me to keep my past behind and not tell this to anyone. But i always have a strong feeling that if i keep everything as a secret it will be a cheating on my future husband. My cousins are very loving and they are worried that if i tell the truth am not going to get someone in my life. Now i want your advice on this. I can’t change my past and what i have done is done. So please give me your valuble advice on this matter. If i tell the truth will it happen to be a foolishness? Hari Om.

When you were in a love affair you were sincere about it. But it fell apart. Now you are going to open a new chapter in life. Did you have any commitment to your future husband in the past? NO. So you did not cheat him. While our scriptures advice you to always say the truth, they also advice you to not say unpleasant truths. By telling a husband about a past affair you are only going to create unpleasantness early in your life. Your job is to belong to your husband 100% in life now and create the most happy life with him. Close all old chapters and make life the best with commitment and love. As time goes by and you built enough love and trust in your relation that both of you will be able to talk and joke about all past relations and take it easy. But it is important to know and understand each other before that. Any distrust that happens early in marriage is hard to correct. So forget the past, live the life of a committed wife and be blessed. Once you are married, you belong to your spouse. Hari Om.
