Dear Swamiji, I have read “Journey Of Souls ” written by Michael Newton . There describes the soul travelling after death to the different plane and the life of thought and mind there. But this book says there is no any Hell like kumbeepakam as described in Garuda Purana. All panishments are only from the earth plane. There only occurs the motivational guide teachings to advance our spirit in the spirit world.Proper personal guide will be with us to give proper guidance.I feel very good approach about death through this book. In Garuda Purana description of boiled oil,hot iron pipe,fire place,and Cruel people punishing for even unknown mistakes are most horrible atmosphere . Because of these human beings are afraid of death

Veda Vyasa has clearly mentioned in Bhagavatha Purana that the purpose of many narrations in Puranas is just to convey a tatwam. It should not be taken literally. It is important to realize death only means losing the physical body. The deeper layers of existence remain and continues the journey to its source through a new body.
