Dear swamiji, im a college student doing pg… i was in love with a person for the past 3 years.. we belonged to different castes (he belonged to a lower caste than mine)and i had to break up because i felt that it will hurt my parents. But now i feel very bad and guilty because he was a good person.. swamiji please advice me whether i shud restart the relation or i shud keep going and marry someone whom my parents choose…im very disturbed nowadays and not able to concentrate on studies…. waiting for your valuable advice

Wisdom in making decisions is needed before we commit, and not after. Now you put yourself in a bad situation where you have to choose between the man you loved and your parents. I would say, take a break, with a determination to make a choice after you get a job and stand on your own feet. You can keep your lover as a good friend till then. Life has a way of taking you where you truly belong. You will know instantly, when you really meet your “soul mate” without any doubts. Everything else will fade away as time passes. You don’t need to force yourself into any decision now. Study well without giving up on your lover or your parents. Chant Swayamvara manthram daily. You will make only the right choices when the right time comes. My blessings are with you. Hari Om.
