Dear Swamiji, Namaskarams! Those of us on the spiritual path follow ethical, moral values, are considerate etc…..However how do we face and what actions should one take when faced with unethical/unrighteous actions from individuals in family and society? Hari Om!

There is a great danger in defining yourself as spiritual and ethical. It will sometimes make you very critical and judgemental of others. The more spiritual you truly become, the more compassionate you should be. Meaning, you should be able to see things from the other person’s perspective. Our scriptures suggest 4 paths- prema, mythree, kripa, upeksha…. in that order. Try to be loving, friendly, compassionate and if nothing works, stay away from them. Hari Om.
