Dear Swamiji, Namaskarams! It is understood that seekers should not have any desire(kama). However there is also mention of Icchashakti(power of desire) for achievements. So this contradiction of having desire or no desire is causing confusion. Seek your guidance on the same. Hariom!

Bhagavan has very clearly explained this in Bhagavad Gita. We have to perform in this world. But the intention behind the performance is what makes all the difference. We need to desire unselfishly and perform for the greater good of the world. It is selfish interests that should be discarded. If everyone has good intentions, ichasakthi will move the individual and the world in the right direction. Hari Om.
