Dear Swamiji, Recently i heard a lecture from a swamiji and he says our prayers to our ancestors will definitely reaches them and they will get enlighted and energized even if they got new life. This means even if our sons or grandsons of previous life do tharpan or prayers for us will reach us which gives us some powers. Is this true. Pls advs.

The ways of the Universe are mysterious. We know light and sound travel unimaginable distance to reach us in no time. However, science could not discover the speed of MIND energy ( prayer is nothing but mind’s sincere positive thought/ energy ). In the bhagavatham 7 th canto lord Narasimha says “ oh prahlad your true and dedicated devotion (Bhakti) would purify your 21 generations. So do your prayers sincerely and in total surrender to the mantra. It will reach and purify many many generations. Hari Om.
