Dear Swamiji, Thank u for making me understand the significance of Namaskaram. For the past few days, our society is now involved in beef matter I follow Hinduism. Why cow is considered as a sacred animal in our group? Please explain if there is any real tattvam behind it. Also Swamiji isn’t it true that the milk that we buy is meant for the calves and aren’t we stealing it? From the recent political outrages against Govt of India rule regarding sale of cattle, Swamiji it hurts to know that people behave as if they are the creators and people believe that the cows, chicken, fish etc. are meant only for consumption and they are living at the mercy of human beings If all human beings follow vegetarianism the food chain should become a disaster So I am not against meat consumption but shouldn’t we give at least some respect to the ones who sacrifice their life for our survival/satisfaction I have also heard about animal sacrifices But Swamiji why are they sacrificed I strongly believe by mere sacrificing the innocent will not lead to any blessings

Hinduism is a religion that believes every life on earth is Divine and the earth is owned by plants and animals as much as it is owned by humans. So sacrificing them to get blessings or for food is not justifiable. Nature has created man to be vegetarian by the nature of our digestive juices and body constitution. What we should eat is not a matter of belief, but what is good for our health. To use cow’s milk as you said is definitely exploiting its baby, that is exactly why we consider cow as a second mother, for giving her milk. All lives on earth have some level of interdependence, but it should never be an exploitation or harm. Human life should focus on getting rid of our own animalistic qualities, not killing other innocent, silent creatures to show we have power . Hari Om.
