Dear Swamiji, Thank you for your valuable discourses on Srimad Bhagavatam which I have discovered thanks to my Mom. Following the tathwam in real life is like giving an exam – sometimes I fail and sometimes I pass. Regardless, a big improvement is the realisation. I am settled abroad, doing well career-wise, ambitious, compassionate and curious by nature on the quest to learn new things and love my family. They treat me as an ideal daughter except for one thing. My parents are very anxious regarding my marriage since I am in my mid-thirties and I haven’t been able to find someone whom I can marry. My question – “Is Marriage a matter of destiny and will it happen when it should happen (it is so easy to console my mind saying that but I feel like an escapist)?” If everything is pre-programmed including birth, our lifespan and death, then is an event such as marriage also programmed. I find myself contradicting my understanding For instance, when I need a job, I have to make the effort to search, gain skills, pass the interview and work hard at keeping it. Is it true for marriage too or will it happen when it should happen? Thank you for your answer in advance.

Dear Bhavanaji,
Animals are entirely controlled by nature. But humans are gifted with the mightiest wealth – their mind and intellect.
We have freedom over our mind only and nothing else. So try as much as possible and leave the result of your efforts to the Lord. Accept the outcome as His Prasad. This is the best way to live peacefully.
Hariom!
