Dear Swamiji, This msg is for my friend who used to read bhagavatham in sapthaham among others in temples. Now a days he feels that he is reading better than others. i told him confidence is good but it should not lead to pride. i also told him not to feel that he is reading for himself but for bhagvan. There is ego among them who is reading best. Pls give direction to them. .

All people express Gunas. Though Satwic guna is better than Thamsic or Rajasic nature, Satwa is also a vice. Just like avidya is a limitation, Vidya can also become a limitation when attached with pride. When you have more qualities you should also develop the power to realize the Divine who is expressing through you. Instead most people think of themselves as a body or a name and boast about everything “I do”. You just need to have understanding and treat them with compassion. If he is a good friend you can tell him to identify the Divine in everything he does. He will slowly mature into it. Hari Om.
