Dear Swamiji, what is the best thing one can do on a Janmashtami day. Which activity would make reall sense? Regards, Anand

Dear Anand Mohan,
The celebrations are meant for realizing the importance of Indian culture and values.
Janmashtami is celebrated to dispel the darkness of ignorance to the light of wisdom.
Singing Bhajans, reading holy texts like Gita, Narayaneeyam and Bhagavatham (especially Sreekrishnavatharam) can attract our mind. The mind will slowly learn that the world to which the mind gets attacted will not be with us forever.
We are blessed with ever existing Truth in the form of Chaithanyam that has to be understood and experienced.
Krishna HIMSELF had insisted that “never see me as a mere human being”. HE represents the SELF in all of us.
(Refer Bhagavath Gita – Chapter 13, slokas 1 and 2).
