Dear swamiji, Who is Shiva? Is he personification of ishwara? Is he a mahayogi? Does praying to Shiva have more significance in spirituality? Another question is “how is temple worship beneficial to an individual?” I have stopped going to temples. Should I visit temples?

Siva is the pure consciousness, which is our Self.
You have to go to temples with a clear understanding that they should support your inner transformation.
