Dear Swamiji, 1). In Geetha Bhagvan says death is just like changing the old dress. Means we remove old dress first and then wear new dresses. 2). In Bhagavatham it is said that it is just like a creeper stretching from one leaf to another. It holds the new leaf and then only release old leaf. This means we take new body then only release the old body. (Here a question may arise – then for rituals are for whom if the soul has taken new body). 3). In Purana there is a story of Gayathri devi who was a disciple of Saraswathi devi. She can see Saraswathi devi at any time – devi used to appear before her. Gayathri devi and her husband were staying alone and when her husband died, she was very much worried and asked Saraswathi devi that she wants to know the status/position of her husbands soul now. Saraswathi devi made her in divine form and travelled in sky for quite long time and reached a place where an old man sitting doing something. Devi told her that this is the status of your husband’s soul in present life. Then she asked Devi – my husband died only hours before and the heat of the body not yet gone and then how he will become so old in the present life then Devi told – soul or atma is beyond time and space. (kala desa parityajya). Swamiji, above 3 remarks are confusing. Cud you pls clarify?
