Dear Swamiji, Bhagvan Krishna born in Yadhava family. (OBC). Hrishis at that time has no hesitation to do upanayanam for him. His wifes Rukmini and Sathyabhama were from Brahmin family. He is worshipped at Guruvayoor by orthodox Thantris and Brahmins. Now if a brahmin lady loves or marrys an OBC boy, what all hassils they hv to face. Recently a Yadhav boy killed in Bihar as he loved a brahmin lady. In Kerala also many brahmin ladies were “padi adachu pinnam vachu” as they loved or married lower caste boys. Veda Vyasan was born to a fisher woman. Valmiki maharshi was a kattallan. Mythri devi was a lady. All were performed upanayam by hrishis at that time without any hesitation. Is this possible at this time. i am a brahmin and my wife is from Nair family. My son wants to get upanayanam. i discussed this with our family priest and vaideeka sabha who all were against. i told them his intention is not money making but for doing good things. As per your advice, i decided to proceed. One Vaideekan, i am honour to tell his name Vaideekan Perumpadappumana Hrishikesan Namboothiri agreed to do this . He is aged 78 and came all way from Palghat to Tripunithura and performed this ceremony. Rumours are still there, but i am least bothered. Our family priest told Unni to break his holy thread , tie it in a stone and throw to a river. So i told my family members (ours is a joint family) that in future if any body call this family priest for any function in our family, my mental, physical and financial support will not be there. All agreed except two who says we will hv his curses to our family. If this is my case, in case an OBC boy wants to get upanayanam for good intention, what all problems he has to face.
