Dear Swamiji, During your Bhagavatam Speech(I listened through the CDs), you mentioned not to ask god about any material gains and said that god is not going to come in his classical form to help us physically. You advised us to take care of ourselves through the help of the intelligence and common sense which god has given us. Hearing this for the first time was a big change for me as it took days and weeks to digest the concept. But at a later point, in the same set of CDs you mentioned that God will save us from crisis and told the story of an Indian girl studying in Canada who was saved from rape and murder because she took refugee in god, when she had to come back to hostel late evening and saw some gundas on the way. The attackers spared her because they saw someone strong was next to her. Is this not conflicing with what you had said earlier? I got really confused at this point. What should be done in case of a crisis? Adjust your mind and save yourself with your intelligence or take refugee in god? Please guide me.

Dear Sumi,
When your mind develops deep love with God who is your inner Self, you will never fall in to negative thoughts and never get influenced by painful or fearful situations. Such a mind feels positive energy and creates strength to face a bad situation.God has no form but if you surrender fully, others can’t exploit you with negative motives, some body will be there to guide and help you.
Understand, God helps those who help themselves.
Hariom!
