Certain gemstones have the power to attract or divulge some harmful radiations in the atmosphere and hence were used in certain levels of Sadhana for their beneficial effects. Same with copper or silver anklets or bangles or “ellasu” worn by yogis. But today people have totally misunderstood this and is being commercialized to big business. If you do Sadhana then a guru will be able to guide you properly as needed. Hari Om
