Dear Swamiji, It is said that Chaturvarnyam is existing in human body itself. A person’s head is Brahmin, hands kshathriya, thigs vysya and legs soodra. In our society these caste divisions are seen. Brahmins (Namboothiris), Kshatrira (Varma), Vysya (Ezhavas) and soodra (Nairs) . Namboothiri caste itself has many divisions such as somayajathiripad, adithiripad, namboothiri, nambyathiri, elayath, pootti etc. Same division can be sen in kshathriya and vysya caste also. In Nair community there are nairs, menon, kaimal, kartha, pillai etc. Hence it is a fact that caste / divisions are there and nobody can change it. It is said that a brahmin is identified not by birth but by his karmas. It is also said that whether a person shud take birth in a brahmin family or a chandala family depends on his karma phala. Above statements are not matching. Pls clarify.

Chaturvaryam has been so misinterpreted. It is ” varnyam” not varnam. The word “varnyam” means described as. What is described as four is your personality trait. When you express noble qualities, you are a Brahmana, when you express courage and valor you are a Kshatriya, when you express business instincts you are a Vaisya and when you are devoted in work you are a Sudra. The same person can exhibit all these traits at different times. It has nothing to do with the caste or family you are born into. If you do not uplift yourself with good deeds and attitudes your personality will sink into lower levels.
(Remember, we always refer to the Lotus Feet of the Lord or Guru, where we give supreme importance to His Feet).
