Dear Swamiji, My doubt about is about performing the pithru sradam. I was told that the eldest son have to do the rituals with proper homam and every year this has to be continued once it is started without breaking, wherein the younger sons should either join the eldest son or if they are doing seperately they should not perform homam. Is it right? In our routine life though it may not be practically possible all the years to do the same, is it wrong for the eldest son if he does “herniyasradam” some years. Kindly clarify and share you thought about this. Hariom!

Dear Krishnanji,
Before doing Sradham you should know for whom you are doing.
When you say for the departed one, then Lord Krishna says, they will be born again to reach and merge with the God.
Think about doing Sradha for the reborn parents.
So understand, it is not for the departed but we are doing for ourselves to make us understand that, before the body leaves lead and guide the mind towards God, who is the source of your existence.
HariOm!
