Dear swamiji pranamam.. i have a colleague. she is bramin but she hold lot of superstitions. one eg: she told me that her parents & herself was not feeling well due to drushti ( casting eyes by some body) so she went to a mosque where they will do some thing and gave her a tread to tie. she strongly belielf in that. several time i advised her tat every thing is in your mind.. please try to change . no effect. am feeling sad that we hindus hold very good culture and scriptures and majority of the people are still ignorant. request your valuable reply so that i can change her views.. thanks

She is just a victim of some beliefs held in her surroundings. The only way out of this is to study our scriptures properly. Thread or drishti is not part of Hinduism. Tell her being Brahmin is about having knowledge of our scriptures. Let her try to acheive that first. Hari Om.
