Mahakali is not a fierce woman as people understand from her pictures. She represents the cosmic energy which in its untamed form can be wild and fierce. In the tamed version along with Siva ( supreme consciousness) she becomes life giving Gauri. She embodies the unbound energy, strength and power of a woman who can elevate others.
You can also develop that. So, pray to get a strong mind like Mother Goddess.
