GREETINGS

Dear Swamiji, Thankyou for your kind greetings. My grandmother and I listen to your talk on Asianet every morning. We are both fans of yours. Although I have to admit I do tend to sleep a few episodes away. However, whenever I do get a chance, I listen attentively and try to practice it. I had gone to Shirdi a few days back with my cousin who is a great big devotee of Sai Baba (and just about anyone/thing that is remotely holy). I am afraid my devotion and regard for “Gods” is very less compared to that of my family. My interpretation is different. Yes, there is an energy but hardly one that works on “I will reward you if you chant my name” or “your stupidity will be forgiven if you praise me”. So, at Shirdi I found it extremely difficult to bow before the idol of Sai Baba. I was more interested in learning his lessons but I could not consider him God. Is “showing no respect”= disrespect? I have great regard for the man who influenced many lives. But I cannot treat him as God, since I do not believe in such an entity. Is this arrogance? I am trying to go through an English version of Sri Sai Sathcharita. Hoping to go through a few of his teachings. Wishing you a very happy new year! Thanking you, Sincerely, Harikrishnan
