Good day swamiji, this is concerning my little brother Adwaith who is 7 yrs old and studying in Primary 2. There are rumors going around about the 2012 apocalypse. An archeologist dug up an ancient Mayan calendar or so called the ”Long-count Calendar” This calendar made by the mayans a long time ago depicts the years of humanity which ends at a specific date which is Dec 21 2012. Most people believe(including my ”scaredy-cat” brother), that there will be a natural disaster which will eradicate mankind. What natural disaster which is going to happen is still uncertain, but many sites in the web say that there will be an astroid hit which creates a giant tsunami. Anyway, when my brother heard about this, he believed it immediately and started crying, saying that he is still a little boy and not grown up.He has not given me and my parents piece ever since. Is there a way which we can stop him from fearing the ”2012 Apocalypse”?

Our culture teaches us to “think beyond destructive nature, as God is unaffected by any disaster”. So when God is with us, the fools leave Him and they think about fututre disasters. Learn to live in the present; that means in the presence of God. When our mind is with God, no disaster can ever affect us. Please study the story of Markanteya; when Lor Yama came to take his life, he strongly caught hold of Lord Siva. Finally Lord Siva, to protect His devotee destroyed the Lord of Death. Now tell me, do you want death or the God who destroyed death?
