Guru… I had heard some talks about chandogya upanishad and in it they claim that Narada has mastered all 4 vedas and yet didnt realise the self. I am a bit suprised. Rig veda has so many refernces to the Atman or self. So how come Narada didnot realise it. So is this claiming that the Vedas are of now use? Please advice.

Mastering of the scriptures is very different from experiencing the scriptures. It is awareness that is beyond knowledge that leads to self realization. In that state, the knower, the known and the knowledge becomes one. Hari Om
