Hari Aum Swami ji, I am 33 years old and my father expired on 14th of this month due to Massive heart attack. He used to always pray to god and had firm belief and used to perform all his duty diligently.He used to take care of his child like a flow recently she had turned 5 years old. From past one week she keeps asking about grandfather when will he come back? why they have put cotton on grandfather nose why they have taken him in an ambulance and so on? How to console 5 year old grandchild ? I and my mother use to listen to your speeches from where we derived strength to overcome this tragic loss. But some times we get a bit depressed and feel lonely and under constant fear. Can you please suggest how can we overcome from the fear and loneliness?

Deepak, life can only flow forward. From your Dad, to you, to your child. It is natural to feel a vacuum when a dear one departs. But living to fulfill their dreams is the best you can do for them. What did your Dad want you to be? Weak and lonely or strong and committed to your responsibilities. Rise up to the role of “the head of the household”. Be the strong presence and comfort for your mother. Now children will question everything that is new to them. Just tell her Grandpa is with Siva now and every time she remembers him she should chant “OM Namashivaya” in her mind. There is no need to explain more to her now. Just divert her attention when she asks. Children will overcome grief quickly. Try to maintain normalcy at home. Let everyone see Dad in you now on. Stand up for your dear ones. My prayers are with you and family. Hari Om.
