Hari Om, Swamiji, I happened to watch a discourse of yours on asianet in which u had said that we should leave the concept of vigraha or the form we giv to god..to which my mind became receptive to an extent. but in our sacred books we have come across several avatars and forms of God.. Lord Vishnu, Shiva or Godesses and even we perform poojas and other rituals with the concept of Vigrahas. I am in total dilemma now.. What is the difference between Vigrahaaraadana and the other wher it involves th mind and Paramaatma… Are both equally beneficial? If Vigrahas are to be bypassed, then how come the concept of Bhagavat Gita wher Krishna adcises arjuna becomes credible.. ie there should be a Krishna who is a manifestation of Lord..in that case we hav to agree with the concept of Vigrahas, isn’t that so. kindly clarify. thanking you. Confusions alone can create clarity in your mind. When you prepare your bed for sleeping is it all for the bed ? No, your intention is to sleep and you feel that when you sleep on that bed you will get good sleep. Similarly all forms are to help your mind to tune with your inner divine energy. The idols can take you into the feelings of inner soul (Paramatma).
If that is not happening then your effort is futile. Like you prepare the bed but there is no sleep.
So, understand the purpose of idol worship and get the true experience through proper guidance.
HariOm!
