Hari Om ,Swamiji, I have a fundamental query after going through Upadesa Sara and a bit of Sad Darshan on the core question “Who am I”?When I go on contemplating on ” Who am I ?”. I reach a state of thought which comes to …….. I am or I is .At this point when I further contemplate,I begin to think where is this originating from ? From my mind. Where is this mind ? …somewhere outside of my body. So,the “Is” thought exists in mind and the mind is somewhere existing …but NOT the part of my body. This thought is unique for that body. Now,two points , what happens without the body to :1. The Mind having I thought2. The ” I ” thought itselfThe main question is : Has the direction of my contemplation or enquiry got diverted after the …”I.. is “or what is the correct right path to follow ?

You went wrong where you link the mind to the body. The body is only a medium for your mind to act. What happens when you die? People say “He left” even when the body is there. So what left was the mind or the world of thoughts and consciousness. That is the realm of the mind. It is part of the conscious entity while body is part of the panchabhootas or the cosmos. This mind with its 4 types of thoughts, ego, intellect, emotions and memories direct everything you do with the body externally. But to understand the internal link of the mind is the purpose of your contemplation. Continue meditating on that. If you were to take away your thoughts what will remain….and so on….Hari Om.
