Hari om Swamiji I just wanted to know when people suffer from diseases their family prays whole day. Still they die. Does God not listen to their pain ?

It is sad to lose a dear one and we all hope that our dear ones always remain with us. But have you ever thought of a world without death? Just as any bloomed flower withers, just as the rising Sun sets, anything that is born has to die. That is the nature of the Universe. Every life comes to this earth directed by a certain amount of karma that we call “prarabdha karma”. When a person has lived off his prarabhadha karma for this life, the mind/soul will leave the body just as we change a dirty cloth. But that does not mean, it is the end. It is in fact the beginning of a new journey for the soul. We should live knowing we have had hundreds of births, 100s of families and 1000s of relatives before this life. So what we cling on to, as ours, is very relative. This cycle will continue and is not directed or dictated by God. Our job at the time as soul leaves the body is to chant a mantra sitting near him/her since the feeling/ambience with which the soul leaves the body is amplified several thousand times in the tendencies (vasanas) that soul will carry. This will enable them to get a better life moving forward. Hari Om.
