Hari Om Swamiji, is it really possible for us to have vasanakshyam as we are living in this transactional world which is sometimes very selfish and competitive, and everyday we are filled with new experiences and thoughts that clutter our mind but the patterns of thought are based on our past vasanas,so is it really possible for a normal person leading a normal life wanting to really improve and grow to actually get rid of the negative vasanas fully and fill it up with good vasanas.Sometimes some nagging feelings exist in our minds from the past and how much ever we feel it has gone,it tends to creep up inside our mind again at the slightest external provocation and for me some thoughts come repetitively, like as a teenager when we are looking for our identity a lot of times we are made to feel like we don’t measure up ,we are not good enough and many a times society and at times family members themselves make us feel like there is something actually wrong with us and so we try hard to prove ourselves and over the time as we grow up ,finish our studies and get a job and get settled and have somewhat proven ourselves in the eyes of the society but still that nagging feeling or thought that we are not good enough and there is something wrong with us won’t go away fully thereby affecting our courage to face the real world and also our determination to reach our goals be it material or spiritual. I know it’s not wise to blame family or parents or how they raised us as the reason behind our lack of courage or confidence as they really did their best and din’t know any better but how do we fully overcome and conquer these feelings that push us down and thereby be more effective and bring out the best within us and make us strong. Please throw some light on this with your valuable guidance. Thanks so much for your help and guidance,it means a lot to me

First thing to know is there is nothing to regret or lament about the past, childhood or upbringing. What do you value in yourself? Your looks or your skills and qualities? What can you do to make the world a better place? What is it that others enjoy about you? Focus on that only. Drop everything that brings on hurts, regrets and pain. Love yourself and be consciously happy. Stay away from people who take advantage of you, degrade you, cheat you, gossip about you, and be with people who you can laugh with. Life is not about wanting the right situation, but creating what is ideal for you. Hari Om.
