Dear Neha,
No, it is the other way. Also it has added the morals of those stories. That is why it is so well accepted and propagated.
It is said that even after writing Mahabharatham, Veda Vyasaji was unhappy and then Sage Narada advised him to write about the Lord and thus Bhagavatham was born.
