Pravritti and Nivritti denotes the two ways we could perform in this world. If we do Karma with an outward or worldly focus, it is the path of pravritti. The results of such action are worldly possessions, like fame, wealth, position etc. The path of Nivritti, however places God as the center of all actions performed, whether personal or professional. Since there is an attitude of total surrender the results obtained from such actions are taken as Bhagavan’s prasad. The path of Nivritti is the path of inward journey to one’s core and understanding the ultimate nature of our existence. Spiritual knowledge helps everyone to mature from Pravritti to Nivritti and such a transformation is essential for a feeling of fulfillment in life. Hari OM.
