Hari om. Swamiji , through ur speech I changed a lot and i am able to throw away many superstitions .But during periods can ladies light lamps and read Ramayanam? That time also i am praying .

You can pray Nama Japam any time.
These customs have formed from time to time for the general well being of women.
A devotee is not bound by rituals, but devotion only.
