Hari Om swamiji, During the course of your lectures on Bhagavad Gita ,I hear you often use the word “EGO”. Does this word have more meaning than what is mentioned in the dictionary? Please explain the in depth meaning in a layman’s language to enable me understand better and be clear.

Mind functions in four ways as follows.
A thought that considers some thing like ‘it is raining’ is from manas.
The thought that reminds you of previous rains comes from memory or chitha.
The thought that analyses this fact and decides to take an umbrella comes from intellect or budhi.
The thought that “I have taken the right decision to take an umbrella” comes from ego or ahamkaram.
A thought of regret also comes from ego.
