Dwadasi in Sanksrit means” twelth” & indicates the twelth day of the lunar calendar. Ekadasi vrutham ends with Dwadasi Samarpanam which is followed in Guruvayur and other Vishnu temples. The significance of Dwadashi vrutham is exemplified in the story of King Ambareesh, a predecessor of Sri Ram. Metaphysically, it represents the journey of two (jeevatma and Paramatma) to ultimately become one (Paramatma). Hari Om.
