There is nothing wrong in women doing these rituals. There is no Scriptural rule against women.
During olden days, women were exempted from many such duties owing to their convenience.
Recently we have seen Mallika Sarabhai doing the final rites for her mother, right?
Heaven and Hell refer to happy and unhappy states which you can experience here itself.
