Dear Aravindakshnanji,
There are two types of vazhipad.
First one is doing with the thought that One God is there in the idol and will be pleased in my offering and will grand me whatever I pray.
This kind of vazhipad is a kind of bribe born out of foolishness that God is different and away from you.
Another kind is to feel one’s own surrender to the Supreme who is the preserver and source of one’s own mind, breath and heat in the body.
Live like Panchali, she offered her self to the Lord with that understanding, when Duryodhna tried to defame and insult her.
